| World War I |
In
the treaty of Versailles, Germany was treated very rudely. According to
this treaty, Germany had to loose 13% of it's territory and 6 million
people. According to the article 231 of Versailles treaty, Germany was
declared war criminal and had to take responsibility of all damage made
by the war. German territories we're confiscated and given to Denmark,
Poland, Liuthania, etc. All German colonies were taken by Allies.
A
huge military restrictions were imposed over Germany. Rhineland was
evacuated and kept under control of Allies for 15 years. German army was
curtailed to 1,00,000 only. Germany was restricted not to have more
than six warships. Germany had to pay 660 million pound as the
compensation of war. Thus, Germany was much humiliated. Eventually Adolf
Hitler came to the power in Germany and denied to accept the Treaty Of
Versailles. His aggressive activities became the root cause of the
Second World War.
